Graduation Lab
New at Bellaire: the Grad Lab in Room 118
As part of a new HISD initiative, in late December and early January all HISD high schools began offering a new alternative for students in need of credit recovery: The Grad Lab. Students enrolled in the Grad Lab have access to a variety of online credit recovery courses that can be completed outside of school at a student’s own personal pace. Tests and finals must be completed in the lab, which is staffed by a Graduation Coach tasked with enrolling students and then monitoring their progress as they complete coursework.
The Grad Lab is perfect for:
- Seniors who might not meet graduation requirements by May.
- Students who are not classified as Seniors but who should be graduating in May.
- Students who failed three or more courses in the previous semester, especially 9th grade students.
- Students at any grade level who have been retained while in high school.
- Students who are overage.
