Homecoming is October 9. Club nomination forms will be placed in your boxes this week. Please return completed nomination forms to Mrs. Thacker by September 9.




All students interested in attending PSAT / SAT tutoring after school, please sign up in the Counselors' office. Tutoring will begin the week of September 13th.




Underclassmen photos will be taken Sept. 7-10, Tuesday thru Friday through English classes. A complete schedule will appear in Wednesday’s bulletin.




Members of the Academic Decathlon team and any student interested in joining the team should meet in Ms. Quaite’s Room (S372) during lunch on Thursday, September 2, 2010. We will begin the novel, “The Grapes of Wrath.” The subject this year is the Great Depression. Come join us for a fun and challenging year.

Attention sponsors: here are forms for nominating Homecoming representatives. Please be aware that each nominee needs a parent consent form.

Completed forms are due Sept 9.







TO ALL CLUB SPONSORS:

The Bellaire Student Government is asking each club and organization to nominate students for Homecoming Queen, King and Court. (Homecoming is October 9.)

Please nominate one (1) girl and one (1) boy from each grade level. THE NOMINEES ARE CHOSEN ONLY FROM MEMBERS OF GOOD STANDING FROM YOUR CLUB/ORGANIZATION AND THE SPONSOR MUST COMPLETE THE NOMINATION FORM AND SIGN IT. NOTE; Students must be UIL eligible to participate. Each nominee must complete and return a RULES FOR HOMECOMING NOMINEES form to be placed on the ballot. (Forms attached)

Return this form to Dana Thacker, Room E245, or place it in her box by 3:30pm, September 10, 2010.

ANY NOMINATIONS RECEIVED AFTER 7th PERIOD SEPTEMBER 10, 2010, WILL NOT BE INCLUDED ON THE BALLOTT.

RULES FOR HOMECOMING NOMINEES / HOMECOMING 2010

1. Your Assistant Principal must approve and sign all signage before posting.

2. You may post campaign signage in the cafeteria from Sept.14 thru Sept. 18. All signage must be removed by 3:30pm Sept 18. (Keep in mind that Facebook postings are seen by only a portion of the student body. Signs are seen by all.)
3. You may post campaign signs ONLY on cafeteria walls using painter’s blue tape. DO NOT POST campaign materials on windows, doors,furniture or in any other area of the school building, including classrooms, and lockers. Wearing a campaign t-shirt is also prohibited. ALL CAMPAIGNING TAKES PLACE IN THE CAFETERIA.

4. You may NOT distribute any type of gifts for campaign purposes, such as candy, food, campaign buttons, etc.

5. During voting, you may not physically approach or coerce in any manner other students before, during or after voting.

6. IF elected to Homecoming Court, participants will wear Semi-formal attire to represent your class.

Failure to follow these rules will result in your candidacy being voided.

Please read the following agreement, sign it and return to Mrs. Thacker in Room E245 by 3:30pm on September 10, 2010. YOU MAY NOT CAMPAIGN UNTIL THIS FORM HAS BEEN signed by you and your parent or guardian and RETURNED TO MS. THACKER.
